C&D Foods has grown to become one of the industry's leading pet food producers. C&D Foods has 9 production facilities across 7 Countries (Ireland, the UK, France, Denmark, Austria, Spain, and The Netherlands) and 2 sales offices located in Manchester and Italy.C&D Foods' Headquarters is in Mullingar, county Westmeath.

At our C&D Foods site in Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford we have a requirement for a solutions driven IT Administrator to join our IT Team.

The IT Administrator will assist the IT team in Supporting all IT requirements for the Edgeworthstown site.

The Isuccessful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure within our manufacturing facility. This position involves providing technical support, maintaining hardware and software, and assisting with IT projects as needed. The IT Administrator will collaborate with various departments to address IT-related issues and contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the manufacturing site. As this is a 24-hour site one week and weekend on call with be required for 24-hour support.

Key Responsibilities

User Support:

* Provide technical assistance and support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware, Network and software issues.
* Proficiency in managing a service desk, overseeing ticketing systems, ensuring timely resolution of issues, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Familiarity with ITIL practices is beneficial.
* Assist with onboarding and training new employees on IT systems and processes.

Hardware Maintenance:

* Monitor and maintain computer hardware, Networks, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
* Conduct regular hardware upgrades and replacements as necessary.

Software Management:

* Install, configure, and update software applications.
* Ensure the proper licensing and compliance of software used within the manufacturing site.

Network Management:

* Assist in managing and troubleshooting local area network (LAN) and wireless network issues.
* Collaborate with the IT team to maintain network security and data integrity.
* Configuring and troubleshooting network issues with knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.

Security and Data Backup:

* Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data.
* In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server, including managing server roles, configurations and security settings. Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and group Policy management.
* Expertise in Hyper-V for managing virtual environments, including configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Hyper-V infrastructure.
* Ensuring regular backups and replication of data using VEEAM to prevent loss and facilitate recovery.
* Regularly back up critical data and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and tested regularly.

IT Documentation:

* Maintain accurate records of IT equipment, software licenses, and configurations.
* Document and update IT-related procedures and guides for end-users.

Vendor and Asset Management:

* Coordinate with IT vendors and service providers for procurement and maintenance.
* Manage IT assets, including inventory control and tracking.

Collaboration and Projects:

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IT-related projects and initiatives.
* Assist in the implementation of new IT systems and technologies.

Key Performance Measures

* RCAs and analysis of "on calls" - Trying to reduce to amount of OOH Calls as the year goes on.
* BCP (business continuity plan) and Disaster recovery - Document and test.
* Housekeeping - Ensure we keep on top of daily checks, monthly checks, Server and storeroom cleanliness, Critical spares list etc. Be Audit Ready at all times.
* Alloy SLA - 80% SLA metric.

Competencies and Qualifications

* Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and presentation skills.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
* Well-organized with good time management and the ability to multitask under pressure.
* IT related qualification and/or 3 years' experience in an IT administration role.

Career Prospects

* Progression within the IT department or other departments at a site or wider group level.
