Junior Immigration Caseworker

Location: Wexford Office (4 days per week, on-site)

Reports to: Senior Immigration Manager / Managing Director

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Immigration Caseworker to join our team in Wexford. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting clients with a range of Irish immigration and protection applications, including Leave to Remain, IPAT appeals, and humanitarian/human rights submissions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who wishes to develop expertise in immigration law and casework.

Key Responsibilities


• Assist in preparing and submitting immigration and protection applications to the Department of Justice, IPO, and IPAT.


• Draft cover letters, client statements, and legal submissions under guidance from senior staff.


• Gather, review, and organise supporting documentation and evidence from clients.


• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files (both paper and digital).


• Liaise with clients, interpreters, and third parties in a professional and confidential manner.


• Monitor case deadlines and ensure all submissions are made within statutory timeframes.


• Keep up to date with changes to immigration laws, procedures, and relevant case law.


• Attend occasional client meetings or interviews, taking detailed notes for the file.


• Provide general administrative support to the immigration team.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.


• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.


• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems.


• Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Desirable (can be learned on the job):


• Previous experience in immigration, legal administration, or casework.


• Understanding of Irish immigration law and procedures.


• Additional languages (e.g., Arabic, Urdu, Portuguese, Thai) an advantage.

Training & Development

Full training will be provided, including:


• Overview of Irish immigration framework and protection system.


• Application procedures for Leave to Remain, IPAT appeals, Humanitarian Leave, and ECHR Article 8 submissions.


• Evidence gathering and persuasive writing techniques.


• Client care, cultural awareness, and GDPR compliance.

Progression to Immigration Caseworker status is expected within 12–18 months, subject to performance.
