Focusing on young people identified as most in need in Finglas south. Collaborate with other relevant agencies to provide meaningful and experiences for young people.General ResponsibilitiesTo implement programmes in line within funding requirementsTo spend 70% of working hours in direct contact with young people, with an emphasis on disadvantaged young peopleTo ensure organised programmes fit within the Youth Work Process and Models of Youth WorkTo work a minimum of two nights per weekProviding outreach and supporting young people to engage in mainstream Youth Work and other community servicesWorking in partnership with the other Youth Officers to design, implement and evaluate project activitiesTo organise seasonal programme for young people to engage with i.e. Summer programmeTo attend and participate at staff meetings within the service.To represent Finglas Youth Service, when requested, at various committeesTo submit all paperwork within specified time periodTo apply for relevant grants related to the ongoing work, in consultation with your Line ManagerTo work within the ethos and values of CrosscareTo implement the Crosscare StrategyTo attend any relevant training to the workTo manage challenging behaviours and situationsTo work in collaboration with the existing team.To carry out any other duties assigned by your line managerDevelop maintain positive community relationshipsEssential RequirementsThe ideal candidate must have a third level qualification and experience in youth work working with high needs young people who can present with challenging behaviour.
