I'm currently recruiting for a Strategic Grid Manager to lead the planning, development, and delivery of large-scale grid and infrastructure projects that enable growth in the Irish renewable energy sector.
This role focuses on the commercial development phase, building strategic partnerships, driving early-stage project activity, and ensuring an optimised approach to infrastructure planning.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver a national policy-aligned grid and infrastructure strategy that is scalable and future-ready.
Collaborate across engineering, planning, investment, and finance teams to ensure strategic alignment and feasibility.
Build strong relationships with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and industry partners to secure project support.
Lead stakeholder engagement and represent the organisation at consultations and industry events.
Create an infrastructure deployment roadmap supporting sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
Manage commercial negotiations, contracts, and investment cases for strategic projects.
Mentor and lead cross-functional teams to drive innovation, performance, and knowledge sharing.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and performance requirements.
Requirements
Degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field; postgraduate qualification advantageous.
10+ years' experience in energy or major infrastructure projects, ideally in renewable energy, power generation, or grid infrastructure.
Proven ability to manage large-scale projects and complex stakeholder environments.
Strong technical knowledge of electricity transmission grid planning and operations.
Commercially astute with expertise in budget management, procurement, and contract negotiation.
Professional project management certification (e.g., PMP) is desirable.
