Now, we're looking for a Transport Clerk to join our team. This role will play a key part in the overall growth of the organisation and help maintain our core ethos at Sysco - keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do.
Summary:
The Transport Clerk is responsible for liaising across sales, transport, and operations departments regularly, as well as ensuring the completion of depot-specific administrative duties in line with processes and compliance.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Ensure efficient dispatch of all routes and products to customers daily.
2. Coordinate depot activities to ensure smooth operations.
3. Ensure adherence to delivery procedures and policies at all times.
4. Collect paperwork from drivers, verify invoices, and deliver to relevant areas at shift end.
5. Update records of driver paperwork errors.
6. Manage incoming/outgoing goods and backhaul collections daily.
7. Collaborate with Operations Supervision and Management, communicating concerns promptly.
8. Coach and motivate delivery team members.
9. Analyze driver performance by accompanying routes.
10. Minimize equipment breakdowns and ensure timely reporting.
11. Maintain company vehicles properly, ensuring safety and brand image.
12. Maintain premises to high standards.
13. Adhere to Security and Health & Safety Procedures at all times.
Qualifications and experience should include:
* Experience in the food distribution industry is advantageous.
* Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
* Strong knowledge of Department of Transport regulations and HACCP guidelines.
* Ability to collaborate and motivate teams to deliver high standards.
* Attention to detail and independent judgment skills.
* Effective communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
* Problem-solving skills for effective resolution.
