The Role
As a Department Manager, you will take ownership of the department's performance, leading and proactively coaching a team of Luxury Sales Ambassador to achieve their individual, floor, and store targets. You will be responsible for leading the development of new and existing Clients. You will build passionate, highly motivated, and talented individuals who continue to grow in their careers, securing succession plans with this.

Responsibilities:
Brand Ambassador

Embody the Weir & Sons brand image for customers and the store team and have a strong understanding of the brand DNA.

Lead by example in demonstrating role model behaviour that is representative of the Weir & Sons brand.

Team Management and Development

Lead the team to drive and deliver business goals, creating a positive, enjoyable work environment that fosters cooperation and excellence.

Define individual and team goals and targets, regularly reviewing, managing, and coaching performance against expectations.

Provide regular and qualitative feedback to the team, coaching "in the moment" to achieve the greatest impact.

Lead from the front, role modelling the way to sell and support your team in their sales to develop their KPIs.

Support and develop the team in building long‑lasting Weir & Sons Client relationships, leveraging all resources and tools available.

Communicate with passion and inspire the team on company messages and information during morning briefings, training, and one‑on‑one meetings.

Provide support and guidance to new joiners, ensuring their onboarding path is fully completed.

Client Management & General Store VM

Manage the customer flow to ensure each client is given the correct level of service and no client is left unattended or unacknowledged.

Build further relationships with Weir & Sons clients to develop loyal clientele in order to reach sales objectives.

Cultivate a client‑centric mindset to always ensure the highest level of client experience.

Develop the customer database by optimising data capture rate and integrity.

Maintain store standards and assist with the implementation of all visual guidelines.

Product

Focus on driving sales for an assigned category, analysing performance, and creating actions to improve and grow performance.

Grow the team's technical knowledge of the product category to increase KPI performance; Sales, Cross Selling, UPT, etc.

Share feedback with the regional team on the performance, customer feedback, and market insights of the assigned product category.

Operations

Lead the opening and closing of the store, resolving difficult client engagements, escalating, or seeking support where necessary.

Maintain a thorough understanding of policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring they are communicated and implemented.

Maintain inventory and be responsible for inventory management.

Collaborate closely with the merchandise planner to manage the department's budget and stock purchasing decisions, ensuring optimal stock levels and alignment with sales targets and trends.

About You

Education: Degree level or above is desired.

Minimum 5 years' experience in luxury retail, with a minimum of 2 years managing a team.

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Good team player with the ability to work independently with high levels of motivation.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, valuing and amplifying diversity.

A client‑centric mindset with a passion to exceed expectations.

Ability to be agile, creative, and commercial in solution development.

Passion towards and knowledge of Weir & Sons brand.
