Geary's Garage, suppliers of John Deere agricultural machinery are looking for two Yard Managers to oversee the day-to-day operations of our dealership in Kilmeedy, Co Limerick and Clarecastle Co. ClareThe position would include ensuring that all agricultural equipment, machinery, and materials are safely and efficiently received, organized, maintained, and dispatched.
The role is responsible for maintaining a tidy and functional yard, and supporting sales and service departments to ensure smooth customer experiences.Key Responsibilities include:Inventory Management:Oversee the intake, inspection, and documentation of all incoming and outgoing machinery and parts.Ensure all equipment is properly tagged, logged, and stored in designated areas.Maintain accurate stock records and assist with periodic audits.Yard Organization & Maintenance:Ensure the yard is clean, orderly, and free from hazards.Maintain clear access routes and proper equipment staging for display and sales.Oversee signage, displays, and arrangement of inventory for visual appeal and safety.Logistics & Coordination:Coordinate deliveries, loading/unloading, and equipment movement.Liaise with transport companies, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure timely dispatch and receipt.Equipment Handling & Maintenance:Operate forklifts, tractors, or other machinery as required.Perform routine checks on yard equipment and arrange necessary servicing.Health & Safety:Enforce all safety regulations and conduct regular inspections.Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to risk management protocols.Equipment PreperationAssist with the preparation and display of used agricultural equipment and machinerySkills & Qualifications:Experience in yard management or a similar role, preferably in agriculture, construction, or heavy equipment.Strong organizational and leadership skills.Ability to operate a forklift, tractor, or similar machinery (relevant licenses/certifications required).Familiarity with inventory systems and basic computer literacy.Good communication skills and customer-focused mindset.Physically fit with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Preferred:Experience in an agricultural dealership or related industry.Knowledge of agricultural equipment and machinery.Valid driver's license and towing capability.
