MeathThere is more than 1 position availableWhile some flexibility will be required the general hours will be agreed with PAs,there are currently 50 hours that are vacant.The purpose of this role is to provide person-centred support to enable a person with a disability to live as independently as possible. This may include personal care, domestic assistance, social and educational support, companionship, tailored to the person's specific needs as outlined in their individual service agreement.Key RelationshipsYou will collaborate with the person availing of our services and their family, fellow assistants (if applicable), and relevant Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) staff, including service coordinators and administrative teams.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssisting the person with a disability to live their fullest life.Personal care tasks, domestic chores, meal preparation, shopping, driving, general support.Support with getting out into the community,Accompanying the person to hospital appointments.Participate in mandatory training provided by IWA, including Manual People handling and SafeguardingBe available for occasional additional hours to cover shifts during holidays, sick leave, or unforeseen circumstances.Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in all interactions with the individual and their family.Person SpecificationEssential Requirements:Reliable, dedicated, compassionate person, with ability to adapt to fluctuating needs of the person with a disability2 contactable written references (to be provided with CV at application point)Driver's License class B, valid in Ireland, ability to drive a stick shift car.Eligible to work in Ireland,Some knowledge/experience of disability issues.Occasional flexibility required with hours of work.Desirable Qualifications and Experience:Experience working with individuals with disabilities.Behaviours and CompetenciesPerson-centred approach with a high level of empathy and discretion.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and schedules.Good organizational and time-management skills.The position offers a flexible schedule based on the member's needs. This may include daytime, evening, weekend, and occasional holiday shifts. Specific hours and days will be outlined in the service agreement.Remuneration and BenefitsStarting rate: € €17.12 per hour (depending on experience).Premium rates for antisocial hours (basic x 1.25), Sundays (basic x 1.5), and public holidays (basic x2).Mileage reimbursement for inter-member travel.Sick pay scheme, maternity/paternity pay, and access to further education support.Additional benefits such as Bike to Work Scheme, PRSA Pension, and Employee Assistance Service.This post comes under the Leader Service of the IWA.
