Company:Our client is a global leader in agricultural innovation, operating a network of over 30 facilities and supporting commercial activities over 40 countries. The UK-based team plays a key role in driving international projects and supporting operations across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, contributing to a €800 million annual revenue stream.Opportunity:The company is seeking a strategically minded, highly organised Global Nursery & HUB Manager to lead global in‑vitro plant material hubs and nursery operations. The role is responsible for safeguarding genetic assets, managing distribution of elite plant material to research centres and nurseries, and coordinating production, logistics, certifications, and IP‑related processes. This is a technical, process‑driven, and operationally strategic role, similar in nature to a curator or librarian responsible for biological assets with a continuum linking the hubs to downstream R&D and nursery activities.Responsibilities:Lead and manage all Genetics Hubs globally.Safeguard biological and intangible genetic assets (plant material, protocols, propagation recipes, and processes).Maintain full traceability, documentation accuracy, and asset integrity.Oversee distribution and movement of elite and innovative plant material between research centres, in‑vitro labs, and partner nurseries.Coordinate and optimise nursery production with third‑party nurseries, ensuring quality, volume, cost, and on‑time delivery.Support, train, and align nursery teams across LATAM, EMEA, and APAC.Manage plant production for breeding programmes, seedling development, and early‑stage material.Ensure research teams receive the correct plant material on schedule for their R&D pipelines.Control global movement of plant material, including quarantine, phytosanitary certification, export requirements, and regulatory compliance.Improve logistics workflows and maintain all associated documentation.Manage relationships with commercial in‑vitro labs and nurseries worldwide.Collaborate with legal teams on IP protection, MTAs, PVRs, and compliance obligations.Develop and implement global strategy for Nursery & Hub operations.Drive continuous improvement across processes, workflows, and global coordination.Participate in strategic discussions related to genetics, nurseries, and innovation.Candidate Requirements:University degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Plant Biotechnology, Food Technology, Biology, or related field; MBA or business administration studies preferred.Minimum 8 years' experience in nursery operations, in‑vitro labs, plant propagation, plant‑material logistics, breeding, or global horticultural supply chains.Experience coordinating international movement of plant material, including quarantine, phytosanitary certification, export documentation, and regulatory compliance.Strong understanding of nursery production systems, propagation processes, and management of elite/pre‑commercial plant material.Proven ability to work with commercial nurseries, in‑vitro labs, and R&D teams across multiple regions.Familiarity with HACCP, BRC, GLOBALG.A.P., and plant‑health, hygiene, pesticide, and biosecurity standards.Understanding of ethical‑trade and supplier‑audit frameworks such as SMETA or ETI (desirable).Experience collaborating on legal/IP matters including MTAs, PVRs, and protected genetic assets.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and standard documentation/reporting systems.Advanced English and Spanish required.Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.Strong organisational capability, detail orientation, flexibility, and initiative.Ability to manage complex workflows and operate under pressure in dynamic global environments.Effective teamwork and collaboration across multicultural teams.Willingness to travel internationally as required, 50-80%.Commitment to continuous training, adherence to processes, and ongoing professional development.Remuneration:A competitive package aligned to experience and market level.
