Purpose of the Role As Head Dental Nurse, you'll lead the clinical nursing function in the Bray, Wicklow clinic, ensuring top-tier patient care, mentoring and supervising the nursing team, and driving clinical excellence, safety, and operational flow in alignment with Truly's values and standards.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership Practice Serve as a clinical role model: provide expert chairside support across all specialties Oversee maintenance of clinical standards, hygiene, infection control, and safety Ensure service readiness: maintain, test, and manage all clinical equipment Support onboarding/trial periods of new dentists and clinical staff Leverage the EXACT system to manage clinical workflows and train team members Manage clinical inventory and supplies to avoid downtime Administrative People Management Participate in staff meetings, contributing to service delivery improvements Maintain accurate nursing records, audits, and equipment logs Uphold clinical governance policies (quality, health safety, risk) Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and development plans for clinical staff Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training new clinical team members Create and manage team schedules, timesheets, holidays, and shift coverage Address day-to-day operational issues with problem-solving and decisiveness Requirements: Skills Competencies Education Experience Qualified Dental Nurse registration in Ireland (or equivalent) Several years of hands-on clinical nursing experience in a dynamic dental practice Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a clinical setting is preferred Technical Knowledge Skills In-depth understanding of dental specialties, instruments, materials, and infection control Competent use of practice management systems, experience with EXACT, is a strong advantage.
Proficient in audit, record-keeping, and clinical governance.
