An established and growing engineering contractor is seeking an experiencedElectrical Commissioning Engineerto support project delivery across Ireland. This role involves hands-on commissioning of electrical and MEICA systems within infrastructure projects, primarily in water and wastewater environments.You will play a key role in ensuring that installations are energised, tested, validated, and fully operational in accordance with design intent and regulatory standards.Candidate ProfileThe ideal applicant will demonstrate:Qualified Electrician (Electrical or Electrical & Instrumentation) with appropriate RECI or equivalent certificationMinimum five years' experience post-apprenticeshipStrong background in commissioning and system start-up activitiesExposure to mechanical plant and rotating equipment (advantageous)Experience within water or wastewater treatment facilities (beneficial)Familiarity with MEICA systems including automation and controlAbility to engage directly with clients and secure commissioning approvalsValid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificationFull, clean driving licenceKey ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for:Maintaining strict adherence to HSE and environmental procedures on all sitesAssisting project teams in preparing commissioning plans, documentation, and test packsLeading commissioning of electrical installations ranging from small works to major infrastructure packagesInstalling and configuring instrumentation, pumps, drives (VSDs), and associated control systemsInterpreting technical drawings, schematics, and control documentationCarrying out energisation procedures including MCC power-up, motor rotation verification, and I/O loop testingCalibrating and scaling instrumentation (4–20mA loops) and configuring signals to PLC systemsSupervising subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel during commissioning activitiesCollaborating with process engineers to optimise system performanceCompleting FAT and SAT activities, including formal sign-offPreparing pre-commissioning inspections, snag lists, and final certification documentationConducting fault-finding, troubleshooting, and system re-certification where requiredManaging personal workload effectively and operating independently when necessaryINDETH-M
