Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Motor Claims Handler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of motor claims, from initial notification to final settlement.
The Motor Claims Handler will work closely with the wider claims function and underwriting departments to ensure timely and cost-effective resolution of claims.
This is a full-time permanent contract, and the successful candidate will report directly to the Claims Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing excellent customer service and capturing critical data accurately at notification stage.
* Handling all incoming communication proactively to resolve claims efficiently.
* Dealing with correspondence from claimants, assessors, garages, solicitors, and other parties.
* Negotiating settlements in a professional and fair manner.
* Managing an assigned workload of claims through to final settlement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A minimum of two years' experience in claims handling.
* APA/Grandfathered status, ideally working towards CIP.
* Customer-focused with the ability to agree win-win situations.
* Awareness of Underwriting Principles, applicable legal and liability knowledge, claims regulations, compliance, and motor legislation.
* Methodical approach to work with good problem-solving skills.
* Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative and prioritize workload effectively.
