We are seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic/Plant Fitter to join our team.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), construction plant, and machinery in line with manufacturer specifications and safety standards. This will involve conducting pre-use inspections and safety checks on all plant and vehicle equipment, maintaining accurate service records, and liaising with site managers and operators to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs, construction plant, and machinery.
* Conduct pre-use inspections and safety checks on all plant and vehicle equipment.
* Maintain accurate service records and complete job sheets and defect reports.
* Liaise with site managers and operators to schedule maintenance and minimise downtime.
Requirements:
* Qualified HGV Mechanic or Plant Fitter (e.g. National Craft Certificate or equivalent).
* Proven experience in maintaining and repairing HGVs and construction plant.
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
* Full clean driving licence (HGV licence desirable).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication and organisational skills.
* Familiarity with health and safety procedures in a construction or civil engineering environment.
