Marsh is seeking a Specialist – Claims Advisory to join our Dublin Claims team, a key role within our broader insurance advisory services. This position allows you to work across diverse insurance lines, including Marine, Employers’ Liability (EL), and Public Liability (PL), managing claims for large multinational corporate clients. You will play a vital role in delivering expert claims handling and advocacy, ensuring timely and fair outcomes that add significant value to our clients and support Marsh’s reputation as a leading global risk adviser.
Responsibilities
Deliver consistent, high‑quality claims service and advocacy aligned to policy terms, client instructions and Marsh governance standards.
Drive timely progression and fair resolution of claims, escalating complex or contentious matters as appropriate.
Provide accurate claims reporting and insights to support client servicing, renewal strategy and performance monitoring, while operating in line with regulatory, data protection and internal control requirements.
Manage a portfolio of claims end‑to‑end (notification to settlement/closure) in line with client instructions, policy coverage, insurer requirements and Marsh procedures.
Set and document claim strategy, next steps and timelines, with strong diary management and proactive follow‑up.
Gather, validate and submit complete claim documentation/evidence to support timely insurer decisions.
Advocate for clients to achieve appropriate outcomes within policy terms, including negotiation and escalation where required.
Keep Account Director/Client Executive/Team Leader informed on high‑value, complex, sensitive or contentious claims, with recommended actions and risks.
Coordinate stakeholders on complex/large‑loss claims, ensuring clear documentation of coverage considerations, position and decisions.
Manage declinatures and coverage disputes with internal stakeholders, preparing clear summaries, chronology and rationale for escalation.
Engage and coordinate external partners (e.g., loss adjusters, solicitors, forensic accountants), agreeing scope, expectations and updates.
Maintain strong client relationships and communications, providing clear progress updates and delivering claims reporting for renewal/stewardship meetings.
Produce accurate MI and audit‑ready records, drive continuous improvement and maintain compliance with conduct standards, GDPR, confidentiality, Marsh policies and QA/audit requirements.
Required qualifications and experience
Relevant insurance claims experience, ideally with exposure to complex or high‑value claims across multiple insurance lines.
Fully Qualified Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) – essential.
Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver high levels of client service.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Experience preparing claims reports and coordinating with external partners.
Preferred qualifications
5+ years insurance claims experience, including handling complex or high‑value claims.
Experience preparing and presenting claims experience reporting and insights for renewal/claims review meetings.
Experience coordinating with external vendors (adjusters/legal) and managing contentious matters.
MDI / ACII qualification.
Demonstrated coaching/mentoring capability and/or prior people leadership experience (where applicable to the role).
