Overview
The Moy Veterinary Clinic, Ballina, Co Mayo has an opening for an experienced Farm Animal Vet to join our five vet mixed practice. Our practice has both companion animal and farm animal divisions and this position is for a mainly farm animal veterinary surgeon. We are ideally looking for an experienced vet who is interested in settling down and getting more control over their working life. Recent graduates with a keen interest in farm animal care will also be considered. We have always offered excellent support and ongoing training to all our employees.
Responsibilities
* The farm animal side involves clinical cattle work, seasonal sheep, preventative healthcare and TB testing for our clients.
* Herd Health/TASAH programs will be a growing part of the position.
* Bull fertility testing carried out.
* IMV Easi-scan available for your use.
* In house faecal testing (Ovacyte).
Facilities and Support
The companion animal side has digital X-ray, ultrasound, dental machine and in house lab. We run our clinics by appointment and have fully computerised records (Teleos). We have an experienced veterinary nursing team. All equipment supplied and training provided. VCI/VDS paid. CPD funded. Mileage paid or a vehicle can be provided. Equally shared 1:5 rota (if experienced) providing OOH care to all our clients LA/SA. Wednesday off after your weekend on call.

Qualifications and Requirements
Suitable candidate should have a degree registered with VCI and be ERAD compliant. We have two certificate holders (Cattle Health and Production from RCVS, Small Animal Medicine from UCD) in the practice and we will fully support any clinical interests or further education you wish to develop.
