We're looking for aResident Engineerto oversee a landmark civil and environmental engineering project across two sites in Galway and Mayo. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible environmental impact while working on complex and rewarding works.About the ProjectThis project focuses on the environmental remediation and restoration of historic landfill sites. Works include:Earthworks and capping systemsDrainage and gas collection infrastructureEnvironmental monitoring and complianceEnsuring EPA-standard restoration for sustainable land reuseYour RoleAs Resident Engineer, you will act as the on-site representative, responsible for day-to-day supervision, quality assurance, and contract compliance. You'll ensure that all works are completed to the highest safety, environmental, and technical standards, both on time and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and monitor site construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.Maintain daily site records, reports, and photographic documentation.Review and approve method statements, inspection/test plans, and quality documentation.Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.Liaise with the project team, contractors, and regulatory bodies.Certify works for payment and manage project documentation.Co-ordinate progress meetings and oversee testing and commissioning of systems.What We're Looking ForEssential:Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent).5+ years' experience in civil engineering: ideally in landfill, waste, or environmental remediation.Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.Proficiency in MS Office and experience with Public Works Contracts.Excellent communication and reporting skills.Full, clean driver's licence with flexibility to travel between Galway and Mayo sites.Desirable:Chartered Engineer status (or working toward it).Experience in local authority or EPA-regulated remediation projects.Familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS.What's on OfferCompetitive salary (negotiable DOE)Health and wellbeing supports (medical benefit, EAP, screenings)Pension, death & disability cover, and professional membership support24 days annual leave + 4 company daysEarly Friday finish and flexible working optionsCPD support and professional development opportunitiesProSource Group is a specialist Irish recruitment company whose primary focus is recruiting within the Construction & Civil Engineering industries throughout Ireland and Europe
