As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing complex onboard systems and supporting mission success at sea and ashore.
About the Role:
1. Electrical Engineering Officers play an active leadership role within the organisation, with comprehensive training to prepare them for both technical and military responsibilities.
2. They may serve on ships, in shore-based roles or overseas assignments, where they will manage areas such as project planning, equipment procurement and maintenance operations.
3. After a sea rotation, officers will take up a shore-based role at the Naval Dockyard, Naval College (NMCI), or Naval Base, overseeing project planning, equipment procurement and maintenance operations.
4. Officers are encouraged to undertake funded Continual Professional Development (CPD) in areas such as Project Management, Engineering Master's programmes, ATEX Standards, Energy Management, Vibration Analysis, and Health & Safety qualifications.
Requirements:
1. Citizenship: Irish citizen or legally entitled to work in Ireland
2. Character & Fitness: Must meet medical, physical and security clearance standards
3. Age: Under 50 years on 31 December in the year of application
4. Qualifications (or national equivalent): Level 8 (or higher) Honours Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Or an equivalent qualification recognised by the relevant authorities
