Our customer engagement sets the bar in service and experiential retail, giving our customers something to love every time.KNOW THE ROLEThe Deputy General Manager will partner closely with the General Manager to plan, lead, and coordinate all store operations, ensuring sales growth, profitability, and operational excellence while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The role requires strong leadership, a focus on people development, and the ability to drive innovation and customer-centric strategies, in line with the Vision, Purpose, and Values of Brown Thomas Arnotts.This is a specified purpose (maternity cover) contract. 37.5 hours flexed Monday - Sunday.Your responsibilities will include:Drive Sales & Profitability by maximising opportunities, monitoring performance, and ensuring effective cost control.Lead and Develop Teams, ensuring high levels of engagement, motivation, and succession planning.Champion Customer Experience, embedding a culture of service excellence and relationship building.Influence and Collaborate with concession partners, stakeholders, and senior leaders to deliver shared success.Ensure Operational Excellence across stock management, payroll control, compliance, and store standards.Monitor and React to Market Trends, competitors, and customer insights, identifying opportunities for innovation and growth.Deliver Projects and Events, such as store campaigns, promotions, and customer experiences.Foster a Culture of Communication, ensuring clear, consistent, and inspiring engagement with teams and stakeholders.Oversee Performance Management, coaching and guiding managers to achieve goals and develop talent.Support Employee Relations, working with HR to ensure best practice in people management.Maintain Health & Safety Compliance, providing a safe environment for customers and staff.Champion Digital and Omnichannel Initiatives, enhancing customer journeys both in-store and online.Represent the Brand with Integrity, promoting the Vision and Values of Brown Thomas Arnotts at all times.KNOW WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORProven leadership experience in retail management, ideally within a premium or department store environment.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse performance and identify growth opportunities.Demonstrated project management expertise, ideally including new store openings.Experience in omnichannel retail and a passion for driving digital innovation.Excellent planning, organisation, and prioritisation skills.Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels.A natural team builder and collaborator, fostering inclusivity and engagement.Skilled at problem-solving with a solutions-focused mindset.High levels of adaptability and resilience in a fast-changing retail landscape.Passionate about customer service excellence and brand experience innovation.KNOW WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOUWe believe that every team member should have the opportunity to curate a meaningful career that enhances professional and personal development.
