is hiring a
Lead Data Engineer
for a rapidly growing tech company in retail analytics and financial automation.
You'll take ownership of building a new cloud data platform as the business moves from on-prem SQL Server/SSIS to a modern cloud environment.
This is a hands-on technical lead role with real influence over architecture, tooling, and data strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Lead design and delivery of a new cloud data platform.
Migrate SQL Server, SSIS, and Python workflows to the cloud.
Build scalable ingestion pipelines for ePOS, accounting, and third-party data.
Implement data quality, validation, monitoring, and lineage.
Optimise Power BI datasets and performance.
Partner with software engineering on integrations.
Define standards for modelling, cost control, and operational excellence.
Experience & Skills
5+ years in data engineering or data platform development.
Cloud data platform experience (Azure/AWS/GCP).
Skilled in modern pipelines, orchestration, and transformations.
Power BI modelling and performance tuning.
Solid understanding of governance, lineage, and reliability.
Nice to Have:
ADF, dbt, Airflow; AI/ML exposure; retail/financial/SaaS experience; CI/CD for data platforms.
