Summary
Our Forklift Operator is responsible for moving finished product, materials, and equipment safely and securely in and out of the steel yard.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to operate and move forklift safely and efficiently.
Safely operate forklifts to load, transport, and unload materials.
Conduct pre-operation inspections and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
Secure materials on forklift safely to ensure proper transportation of materials.
Deliver materials to designated areas with precision and care.
Navigate warehouse and yard areas with attention to surroundings.
Communicate clearly with spotters and supervisors to coordinate safe material handling.
Qualifications
Prior experience in warehouses/manufacturing/fabrication shops preferred.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to manage job duty and workflow.
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player.
Ability for cross training in other areas of the plant.
Follow safety procedures including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods of time.
Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally with assistance.
Frequent use of hands and arms to handle materials, tools, and welding equipment and machines.
Ability to kneel, crouch, climb, or work in awkward positions to complete work.
Visual acuity to read measurements, inspect welds, and maintain quality standards.
Exposure to welding fumes, bright light (arc flash), heat, sparks, and airborne particles.
Everyday use of PPE including flame-resistant clothing, welding helmet, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety-toe boots.
Climate conditions vary in production areas from hot in the summer to cold in the winter.
