Job Title: Project Director
Overview
The successful candidate will oversee and manage multiple construction projects from initiation to completion.
Closely involve communication with all disciplines, the Client, Architectural, Engineering, and EHS Practices involved in contracts.
Duties:
* Develop a detailed project plan for works including sub-contractors and other disciplines.
* Ensure adequate resources are available to complete the project within schedule.
* Coordinate project management, construction, and engineering teams.
* Ensure every member of the Project Team is aware of their roles and responsibilities associated with the project.
* Familiar with the contract and all relevant addendums.
* Communicate with directors on project progress.
* Attend pre-start meetings.
* Exercise control on the financial administration of all construction work to achieve maximum cost effectiveness.
* Develop a project risk register and recovery strategy.
* Track project labour and trends including weekly indicators.
* Represent commercial interests.
* Oversee project cost/revenue control and report performance weekly.
* Manage procurement and supply chain.
* Develop and manage project communication with stakeholders via regular meetings.
* Represent the organization at meetings with Clients, Subcontractors, and suppliers as required.
* Lead by example in regard to safety to encourage site operatives, clients, and management to buy into the organization's ethos and culture.
Requirements:
* BSc Degree or higher in Construction, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in construction contract management, ideally with a main contractor in Ireland.
* Strong understanding of Irish construction regulations, contracts, and building processes.
* Proven ability to lead and manage teams, and work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
* Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project), and a solid grasp of budget and financial management.
