Operations Support Specialist
The Operations Support Specialist plays a crucial role within the Transport Technology directorate, acting as a liaison between the Transport management system (TMS) team and Integrated Ticketing System (ITS) team. Key responsibilities include coordinating system installations and/or upgrades at NTA sites and customer locations, collaborating closely with suppliers and operators to resolve technical issues. Additionally, the specialist is accountable for addressing service-related issues at operator sites, encompassing troubleshooting minor software problems, firmware upgrades, hardware troubleshooting, providing training to customers and new operations personnel, and developing procedures for operational support.
In this capacity, the specialist will be responsible for ensuring the timely and prioritized management of incident faults relating to vehicle equipment and relevant NTA back office systems through a managed service desk. This will involve frequent off-site visits to Service Providers and end-users premises, primarily focused on the greater Dublin metropolitan area. Full training in supporting equipment such as on-bus ticketing, vehicle location systems real-time systems will be provided.
This position requires a minimum of three years' experience within similar technical service environments. The ideal candidate should hold a National Craft Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Automotive fields, demonstrating the ability to understand and troubleshoot complex technical issues. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with proficiency using Microsoft Office.
The successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to fault-find and troubleshoot technical issues. Systems analysis and design experience is beneficial, particularly in customer-facing roles. Work from home opportunities may be available for qualified candidates.
