Trainee Production Shift Manager Reporting to: Production Manager Location: Nenagh Co. Tipperary Business Sector: Ingredients - Manufacturing Support the Production Shift Manager in taking responsibility for the effective and efficient operation of a highly automated 24/7 milk processing site. Responsibilities: Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to: Supporting the Production Shift Manager in: Ensuring the manufacture of products to the highest standards in the safest, most cost effective and efficient manner. Fully utilising and harnessing the Production and Maintenance Teams capability through effective leadership, processes that are consistently applied and accurately measured against the business objectives. Day to day management of production operatives on the shift rotation Identifying and implementing process improvements in conjunction with key stakeholders Ensuring strict adherence to all Health and Safety policies and procedures. Ensuring consistent adherence to company policies and standard operating procedures. Maintaining and driving quality standards in process, people, and product. Capacity planning for existing and future products Identifying and implementing Lean initiatives Contributing to the culture of continuous improvement Reporting and communicating effectively with the senior management team on an ongoing basis. Assisting with the development of Standard Operating Procedures. Qualifications/Experience and Competencies Required: Experience in a production role in a Food processing environment a distinct advantage Food/ Science or Process/Engineering/Production Management qualification or equivalent desirable. Key Skills/Attributes Required: Experience in a production role in a food processing environment including previous experience as a team leader/shift manager or equivalent desirable. Possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment. Appetite to drive safety improvements IT and report writing skills High standards of systems compliance. Personal Attributes/Core Behaviours Willingness to learn and undertake formal training Strong ability to work in a team. High motivation, Flexibility, and the ability to work on own initiative.
