Systems Support Analyst – Role Description & Qualifications

Role Overview

The Systems Support Analyst provides technical support and operational assistance for business systems and applications, ensuring reliability, performance, and user satisfaction. This role focuses on monitoring system functionality, troubleshooting issues, and supporting users to maintain smooth daily operations. The position serves as a key link between technical teams and end users, contributing to system stability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities


• Provide first- and second-level support for business systems and applications.


• Monitor system performance and identify potential issues or disruptions.


• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system and application incidents.


• Log, track, and document support requests and resolutions.


• Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate teams when required.


• Assist with system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.


• Support user access management and basic system administration tasks.


• Maintain system documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles.


• Collaborate with IT, operations, and business teams to improve system usability.


• Contribute to continuous improvement of support processes and service quality.

Qualifications and Requirements


• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.


• Experience in systems support, application support, or technical helpdesk roles is preferred.


• Strong understanding of operating systems, applications, and basic networking concepts.


• Ability to analyze technical issues and provide effective solutions.


• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.


• Clear communication skills for supporting technical and non-technical users.


• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.


• Ability to manage multiple support requests and prioritize effectively.


• Familiarity with service management tools or ticketing systems is beneficial.


• Reliable, proactive, and service-oriented work approach.
