About the Role

We are appointing an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our team. The Person in Charge (PIC) will be responsible for overall management of the service, ensuring compliance with HIQA standards, implementing Talbot Group policies and procedures, and supporting best care and practice in disability services. The PIC will report and respond to complaints in line with organisational policies, manage staff and provide mentorship and leadership through supervision, appraisals, and monthly team meetings, coordinate appointments with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure a high quality of life for residents through person‑centred care plans, health promotion, reviews and risk assessments.
Responsibilities
Overall management of the adult residential disability service
Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and implement Talbot Group policies
Report and respond to complaints according to organisational procedures
Lead, mentor and supervise the staff team, including appraisals and monthly meetings
Coordinate and prioritise appointments in liaison with multidisciplinary teams
Maintain and review personal care plans, health promotion, and risk assessments
Support residents in exercising choice and control, developing citizenship and maintaining relationships with family and friends; facilitate access to advocates and professional supports where appropriate
Ensure care plans are regularly reviewed and updated as per regulations
Stay informed of current developments in the relevant profession and pursue ongoing professional development
Qualifications
QQI Level 7 degree in Social Care or a related Allied Health discipline
Minimum of three years’ experience in a management or supervisory role in the Health or Social Care sector
Holding an appropriate qualification in Health or Social Care management (minimum Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications)
Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
