This is a key role within a dynamic, fast-paced environment where innovation and collaboration drive the delivery of world-class digital solutions across the organisation.
The successful candidate will play a central role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications using Python and React, supporting critical business functions and ensuring a seamless user experience for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end web applications using Python (backend) and React.js (frontend).
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices to support scalable and secure integrations.
Implement best practices for clean, maintainable, and testable code across the stack.
Contribute to the architecture and technical design of new and existing systems.
Ensure performance, scalability, and security standards are met throughout the development lifecycle.
Work within an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing systems for performance and reliability.
Stay current with emerging technologies and frameworks relevant to the financial services sector.
Key Requirements 3–6 years' experience as a Full Stack or Software Engineer, ideally within financial services, fintech, or another regulated industry.
Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with frameworks such as Django or FastAPI.
Solid experience developing modern web applications using React.js and associated libraries (e.g. Redux, React Query, Next.js).
Experience with RESTful API design and integration.
Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Strong focus on code quality, security, and scalable architecture.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
