Role Overview
The Senior Financial Strategist will play a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Finance with financial strategy and projections. This position involves leading the annual budget process, including preparation, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the Director of Finance to develop and implement financial strategies
* Oversee the annual budget process, ensuring timely and accurate completion
* Identify potential funding streams and prepare costings for projects and initiatives
* Monitor operational and capital expenditure, maintaining proper cash flow management
* Maintain compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements
* Ensure effective internal controls and best practice financial standards are upheld
* Manage general ledgers, accounting systems, and reporting for audit and compliance purposes
* Provide leadership and support to staff within finance, HR, and client services functions
* Foster a positive team culture that encourages professional development and learning
Requirements:
* Recognised professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CIPFA)
* Minimum 4 years' experience in financial or management accounting
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and computerised accounting/HR systems
* Proven leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage, support, and motivate staff in a dynamic environment
