Network Engineer Role
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join a highly skilled team that designs and automates next-generation network architectures.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics, deploying, scaling, and automating our network across many global data centers.
This includes existing footprints and new locations. The successful candidate will identify opportunities to increase scaling velocity and quality, create simple, repeatable processes, and improve upon existing processes.
The role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and time management skills, and a successful track record of designing simple, scalable solutions and troubleshooting complex network problems and delivering innovative solutions.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.
The team collaborates with people across AWS to help deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deploy network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics
* Deploy, scale, and automate our network across many global data centers
* Create simple, repeatable processes, and improve upon existing processes
* Work closely with our internal customers on designs/solutions; bringing those designs/solutions from concept to production
* Identify opportunities to increase scaling velocity and quality
* Ensure that the network is deployed to these standards
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in a technology related field
* 5+ years professional experience working in large scale networking environments
* Experience with internet routing protocols, concepts: TCP/IP, BGP, and/or OSPF and with network operating such as Cisco IOS and Junos
* Experience working in a Unix environment
* Experience in via Bash/ or programming
Preferred Qualifications:
* Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills; specifically, network performance analysis
* Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem, and work toward resolution
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
