Role Description
This role involves joining our Corporate Credit team within GCIB, managing and delivering credit relationships for corporate clients aligned with the company's growth strategy, risk appetite, and standards. The team works closely with various business lines, relationship managers, product specialists, and Risk.
GCIB Credit analyzes and delivers credit underwriting, debt financing solutions, and derivative strategies for medium and large corporate clients, including services such as mergers and acquisitions advice, capital raising, corporate lending, and risk management.
GCIB Credit collaborates with teams across GCIB & GM to drive growth while maintaining risk discipline, managing credit risks, and partnering with other branches for effective portfolio management.
Responsibilities
* Perform financial and credit analysis, risk rating, ensuring adherence to policies.
* Assess creditworthiness, perform due diligence, and establish terms to mitigate risk.
* Structure transactions, underwrite, and negotiate credit documentation.
* Manage portfolio targets for country/credit capital, commitments, and asset quality.
* Establish and adjust internal risk ratings throughout the credit lifecycle.
* Ensure portfolio and credit management processes meet audit and regulatory standards.
* Develop understanding of products and portfolio risks to craft solutions.
* Maintain relationships with business partners across various teams.
* Participate in strategic projects and provide coaching to junior teammates.
What We Are Looking For
* BA/BSc degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
* Experience in credit risk at a major financial institution, with knowledge of industry sectors and transaction structuring.
* Strong risk judgment, understanding of market and regulatory environments.
* Technical knowledge across lending, trade finance, and derivatives.
* Ability to influence policy, with a strategic and positive outlook.
* Effective communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with financial modeling skills.
* Ability to prioritize, negotiate, and proactively manage credit risks.
* Interest in finance, macroeconomic, and geopolitical issues.
* Fluency in English; additional European languages are advantageous.
