Grade IV Officer: Temporary Immediate Vacancies
Responsibilities
Provide high standard of administration support
Typing all correspondence for the service
Maintain efficient system for organising and running clinical services as appropriate
Ensure data entry is accurate and current
Manage health records – sourcing, filing, tracking, audits
Communicate effectively with patients, carers and staff appropriate to the post
Provide friendly, courteous and efficient reception service
Perform any other appropriate duties assigned from time to time
Participate and cooperate with legislative and regulatory requirements in relation to Health and Safety as outlined in the Safety, Health and Welfare Act 2005 and the Hospital Safety Statement
Ensure own mandatory learning and training is kept up to date
Requirements
Have obtained at least Grade D (or a pass) in five subjects, including Mathematics and English or Irish (or four subjects if Irish is included) from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education Leaving Certificate Examination.
Have obtained at least Grade C (or honours) in higher level/honours papers in three subjects, or two subjects if Irish or Mathematics or both are included.
Hold a third level qualification of at least degree standard (QQI level 7).
Have a minimum of 1 year's satisfactory clerical experience (ideally within a patient or customer service-related area) demonstrating equivalent skills in a relevant environment.
Possess sufficient administrative capacity to discharge the functions of the grade.
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel) and email.
Previous clerical experience in a hospital/healthcare environment, which may include general hospital administration, medical secretary and/or medical audio typing role.
Have completed or be leading to completion in a course of study related to a medical secretary.
Working knowledge of healthcare patient records systems e.g. PAS and/or EPR.
Working knowledge of IT systems relevant to the area (e.g. SAP, Genesis).
