NPDI Engineer
FAAC Electronics Limited is an electronic manufacturing site, located in the Citywest Business Campus (Dublin 24). We are the main electronic supplier for all the Business Units of the Italian group FAAC Technologies, world leader in access automation, parking and access control, employing more than 3,900 employees worldwide across 5 continents and our 55 companies. Our 3 Business Units are:
* ACCESS AUTOMATION (FAAC Simply Automatic) - automation for gates and barriers, entrances and automatic doors, motors for rolling shutters and screens, car parks
* ACCESS CONTROL (Magnetic) - systems with innovative solutions for access control, for both barriers and pedestrian passages
* PARKING TECHNOLOGY (Hub) - with intelligent and scalable solutions to control paid car parks
The NPDI (New Product Development Introduction) Engineer is responsible for coordinating and executing all technical and cross-functional activities necessary to successfully develop and introduce new products into production. This role ensures that new designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, meet quality standards and are delivered on time to market. The NPDI Engineer reports to the NPDI Manager and works with cross-functional teams across the organization.
Individual Areas of Responsibilities
* Support and coordinate product development activities, working closely with R&D, Engineering, Production, Planning & Logistics, and Quality to ensure a smooth transition from product concept to full-scale production
* Oversee the transition from prototype to mass production, by conducting trial production run, addressing production issues, and ensuring full-scale production processes are stable and efficient
* Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and product specifications.
* Prepare and update production documentation, including Work Instructions, Visual Aids, and Manufacturing & Control Plans
* Coordinate with Procurement Team to ensure timely availability of components for prototypes and production ramp-up
* Manage activities related to the introduction and implementation of Engineering Changes (ECs)
* Responsible for collecting and updating cycle times during Trial and Pre-series phases, supporting process optimization and cost efficiency through the accurate definition and maintenance of standard times and workflows
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and coordinate cross-functional efforts
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-oriented mind-set.
* Proven ability to lead and collaborate in a cross-functional environment
* Knowledge and experience in electronics manufacturing processes, acquired through education or practical experience
* Good knowledge of time and methods analysis
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
* Proficient in MS Office and CAD software
* Experience with SAP is highly preferred
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
