Food Safety Compliance Officer
Excel Recruitment is seeking a Food Safety Compliance Officer for our client who specialises in the food service and catering industry. This role ensures adherence to Quality, Food Safety, and Environmental Health & Safety (QFSEHS) standards across all operational units nationwide. The position is based at the head office but involves regular travel throughout Ireland.
Responsibilities
1. Promote continuous improvement of QFSEHS systems to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
2. Assist in developing and implementing QFSEHS policies and procedures.
3. Conduct food safety and health & safety audits, including follow-up reviews and reports.
4. Support in updating Standard Operating Procedures, Safe Systems of Work, and Risk Assessments.
5. Help resolve product complaints, non-conformance's, and customer queries.
6. Contribute to environmental initiatives and sustainability projects.
7. Participate in cross-functional projects such as customer service assessments and training programs.
8. Support new site openings and closures.
9. Deliver training sessions as required.
10. Collaborate on quality management strategy and operational problem-solving.
Requirements
11. Third-level qualification in Food Science, Quality Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or related fields.
12. Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role within multi-site operations in retail, food service, or catering.
13. Full clean driving license.
14. Strong knowledge of Irish and Northern Irish legislation and best practices in quality, food safety, and health & safety.
15. Proficient computer skills.
16. Excellent problem-solving, auditing, and report-writing abilities.
17. Experience in teamwork, customer focus, planning, and influencing others.
