Atlantic Aviation Group is one of Europe’s leading independent aviation solution providers, based in Shannon and boasting over 60 years of experience.ResponsibilitiesTake responsibility for the review, interpretation, communication, and implementation of all applicable safety legislation.Implement and perform an internal audit programme, including regular spot‑check assessments in accordance with organisational safety policies to ensure a safe work environment.Monitor safety performance, providing updates and recommendations to the EHS Quality Manager.Generate periodical health‑safety performance statistics, identify trends, and take appropriate actions to maintain compliance.Co‑ordinate the risk assessment programme and manage follow‑up actions.Support occupational health monitoring programmes – assess trends and propose recommendations.Identify training needs, develop training programmes, and deliver them to employees, contractors and customers to maintain required competence in safety awareness.Lead incident reporting investigations, ensuring root‑cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.Generate management reports for internal use, across the AAG Group, and external agencies as appropriate.Support evaluation of new activities and equipment regarding health‑safety legislation implementation.Continuously develop and implement the emergency response plan.Maintain training statistical data records.Coordinate the safety committee and first‑aid activity programmes.Liaise with other AAG Group EHS colleagues on relevant issues and developments.Liaison with internal departments (HR, Occupational Health Nurse/Doctor, Operations) and external bodies (Health & Safety Authority, Personal Injury Assessment Board, Insurance Companies, etc.).Support the EHS Quality Manager with the development of a safety culture, utilising regular communication media and safety‑topic awareness campaigns.Assist EHS specialist team members and other quality team members in carrying out their duties.Undertake projects and assignments allocated by the EHS Quality Manager.QualificationsHold a degree in Occupational Health and Safety.Have experience with a Safety Management System and its implementation, preferably OHSAS 18001.Understand and be able to interpret safety legislation and compliance standard requirements.Demonstrated record as an H&S professional, with a minimum of six years of relevant experience in a dynamic industrial environment.Willingness to learn about all aspects of health, safety and environment in this broad role.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to challenge and positively influence a busy operational environment.Ability to interact readily across departments and engage senior management to improve health and safety performance.Working Conditions• Must satisfy and maintain the required medical standard.• Work is performed at the AAG hangar in Shannon.• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided by AAG and is mandatory.• Must meet airport security requirements.Equal OpportunitiesAtlantic Aviation Group is an equal‑opportunity employer.
