The Role.
As aPE Mainlaying Operative at GMC Utilities Group, you will assist in the installation, welding, testing and commissioning of polyethylene (PE) water mains and service connections.
This role is key to supporting the delivery of high-quality water infrastructure under the Irish Water framework.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Key Responsibilities: Excavate, lay and joint PE mains and service pipes according to drawings and specifications.
Perform butt fusion and electrofusion welding in line with approved procedures.
Conduct pressure testing, chlorination and flushing of newly laid mains.
Support reinstatement and site restoration following works.
Adhere to health, safety and environmental standards at all times.
The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies: Full driving licence (valid in ROI) Experience in PE mainlaying or water pipeline installation.
Electrofusion/butt fusion welding certification desirable.
CSCS plant operation tickets advantageous.
Good understanding of water mains construction and testing procedures.
