Role Overview
As the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor for North Dublin, reporting to the Operations Manager, you will develop and implement strategies to improve safety, efficiency, quality, and productivity within a safe working environment.
Your Responsibilities
1. Promote safe working practices and ensure adherence to company HSE policies and procedures.
2. Conduct regular site HSE inspections and report findings.
3. Manage documentation related to Health & Safety and Environmental Systems in compliance with company policies.
4. Coordinate pollution control, waste management, recycling, and environmental health initiatives.
5. Discuss HSE issues during project review meetings.
6. Maintain records to meet audit standards and update the HSE legal register as needed.
7. Investigate accidents and incidents, report findings, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
8. Oversee compliance with relevant legislation, including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and related regulations.
9. Assist with risk assessments, sub-contractor evaluations, and documentation reviews.
10. Deliver HSE training and promote incident prevention initiatives.
11. Support incident investigations and stay updated on legislation.
12. Communicate HSE values through presentations, toolbox talks, and other communication channels.
13. Liaise with legal authorities such as H.S.A and EPA.
14. Understand legal requirements, especially regarding PSCS duties.
Background & Qualifications
* Experience in HSE management within engineering operations of similar scope.
* Knowledge of PSCS duties.
* NEBOSH Diploma or higher in EHS.
* Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, ShareFile, and Teams.
* Experience with Environmental permitting, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or similar systems.
* Excellent communication skills, proactive attitude, and strong work ethic.
* Membership in IOSH or IEMA is preferred.
