Cloud Analyst -Microsoft Azure & Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)Fully Remote or HybridContract with our Cork based client.Immediate start, so you should be available soonYou should also be already eligible to work long term in Ireland, EU or UK.Role OverviewThe Cloud Analyst (Contractor) provides hands‑on operational support acrossAzure and OCI environments, supporting business‑as‑usual cloud operations, governance controls, monitoring, identity management, and cloud service readiness.The role bridges the gap between junior operational support and senior cloud engineering, taking ownership ofday‑to‑day cloud operational tasks, proactive issue identification, and cross‑team coordination, while working within established cloud standards, security controls, and operating models.Required Experience & SkillsEssentialHands‑on experience supporting Azure in an operational environment.Working knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)Strong understanding of:Cloud monitoring and alertingRBAC and identity management conceptsAbility to independently triage and resolve common cloud operational issues.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Clear written and verbal communication.DesirableExperience working in regulated or enterprise environments.Exposure to backup, DR, or business continuity operations.Familiarity with CMDB processes and asset governance.Cloud certifications (Azure or OCI) – not mandatory for contract roles.Key ResponsibilitiesCloud Operations & MonitoringProactively monitor Azure and OCI environments using enterprise monitoring and alerting platforms.Investigate and triage alerts related to performance, availability, capacity, and user/service errors .Perform first‑ and second‑line analysis before escalation to senior engineers or vendors.Validate remediation actions and confirm service recovery.Azure & OCI Platform SupportSupport operational management of cloud resources including:Virtual machines and platform servicesResource groups, compartments, and subscriptionsNetworking and connectivity dependencies (at operational level)Perform routine cloud hygiene activities (resource validation, tagging checks, lifecycle reviews).Assist with onboarding new workloads into Azure and OCI under existing standards.Identity & Access Management (IAM)Process and review IAM requests across Azure and OCI:Role‑based access control (RBAC)Privileged Identity Management (PIM) requestsAdmin consent reviewsEnsure access aligns with least‑privilege principles and operational policy.Maintain audit‑ready records of access approvals and changes.CMDB & Cloud Asset GovernanceMaintain accuracy of cloud assets in the CMDB.Reconcile cloud resources against CMDB records and identify discrepancies.Support decommissioning activities and ensure records are updated correctly.Work with service owners to confirm ownership and lifecycle status.Backup, Recovery & DR Operational SupportMonitor backup and recovery job reports for cloud and hybrid workloads.Identify failed or degraded backup jobs and coordinate follow‑up actions.Support DR readiness activities by validating backup coverage and recovery data.Assist with DR testing activities from an operational and evidence perspective.Service Management & BAU DeliveryWork within ServiceNow (or equivalent ITSM tool) to manage cloud‑related incidents, requests, and changes.Support change implementation activities under CAB‑approved processes.Provide clear operational updates to stakeholders and cloud leadership.Contribute to continuous improvement of Cloud Ops processes.Documentation & ReportingMaintain operational documentation, runbooks, and procedures.Produce regular operational reports covering:Cloud health and exceptionsIAM activityBackup and DR visibilityProvide input into audits and compliance reviews as required.(Additional information is available on successful application)If you are interested in applying for this role, please do so via the relevant link.
