Specified Purpose, Full-Time
The successful candidate will work as a member of the physiotherapy and multi-disciplinary teams, providing a high quality physiotherapy service to patients in assigned areas in accordance with professional standards of practice.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities
* Work in the area(s) allocated by the Physiotherapy Manager.
* Carry a full clinical caseload. To include:
* Treating in-patients on the prenatal, postnatal and gynaecological wards.
* Leading antenatal and post-natal classes.
* Treating ante, post-natal, and Gynae outpatients for musculo-skeletal and pelvic floor dysfunctions.
* Provide appropriate physiotherapy to patients in changing circumstances and as the need arises, in accordance with professional standards of practice.
* Maintain dignity and respect of patients
* To behave in a caring, professional and responsible manner.
* To maintain client confidentiality.
* Work as a member of the physiotherapy team to meet the needs of clients and to improve patient care.
* Attend and contribute to staff meetings and multi-disciplinary team meetings as required.
* Continually update and develop professional skills to ensure the best standards of patient care.
* Attend relevant courses on a regular basis.
* Contribute to in-services in the department.
* Participate in mandatory training programmes.
* Education and supervision of physiotherapy students.
* Implement agreed policies, procedures and safe professional practice by adhering to relevant legislation, regulations and standards.
* Engage in performance management and personal development.
* Demonstrate evidence and organisational skills to execute one’s own caseload.
To maintain comprehensive and accurate physiotherapy notes and records in
accordance with department policy, and to ensure the safekeeping and
confidentiality of these records.
* Consult with Physiotherapy Manager when problems arise.
* Demonstrate flexibility as and when required by the Physiotherapy Manager to ensure the delivery of an effective and efficient service.
* Carry out other duties appropriate to the post as required from time to time.
* Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
Essential Qualifications
* Candidates for appointment must:
* Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU AND
(ii) Be registered on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. OR
(iii) Applicants who satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005, must submit proof of application for registration with the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. The acceptable proof is correspondence from the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU confirming their application for registration as a Section 91 applicant. AND
* Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. 2. Annual registration
* On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU And
(ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU
