Job Description
Location: Millbank House, Arkle Road, Sandyford Business Park, Dublin. This is a hybrid role based at our Head Office in Sandyford, Co. Dublin. The role involves nationwide travel to deliver in-person training, attend off‑site meetings, and represent Odyssey Social Care at conferences. Hours of work: 40 hours per week.

Overview
Reporting to the Training Manager, the Social Care Trainer coordinates and delivers training for staff within the organisation. The Trainer plays a key role in ensuring our staff teams receive high quality training and development, helping them to make a positive impact on the lives of young people in care.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate mandatory and additional training courses for Odyssey Social Care staff
* Book trainers and secure training rooms
* Encourage and facilitate trainee attendance and send reminders to trainers and trainees
* Ensure training quality, recording and certificates are uploaded
* Provide feedback on trainee attendance and performance to Regional and Social Care Managers
* Track training and refresher needs and match staff with appropriate courses
Training Development
* Research training needs and current course availability
* Develop content, appraisal methods, and training materials using current organisational knowledge
* Plan the training course, including participant needs assessment and material preparation
* Brief co‑trainers and present courses designed to motivate and support staff
* Assess course content and participant performance, provide constructive feedback, and ensure certification records are maintained
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Relevant Social Care Work Qualification (Level 7 or above)
* CORU Registration (required or in process)
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in Children’s Residential Services
* Strong knowledge of Children’s legislation and best practices
* Understanding of Irish National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres
* Experience delivering training sessions to staff groups
* Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, TMS and data management systems
* Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide
* Keep abreast of new legislation and regulatory frameworks
Desired Criteria
* Strong knowledge of Children’s legislation and best practices
* Understanding of Irish National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres
* Experience delivering training sessions to staff groups

* Legally authorised to work in Ireland
