They will need to lead the design of mechanical building services for projects in the data centres, industrial/high-tech, and commercial sectors. As a Senior Project Mechanical Design Engineer, you will oversee projects across the EMEA region, managing the full project lifecycle from initial concept to client handover. You will confidently handle project delivery while building and maintaining strong client relationships. In addition, you will mentor and guide engineering staff, ensuring all team deliverables meet our quality assurance standards before handover. One of your primary deliverables in this role will be the management of several projects and ensuring that all members of the team stay on track with deliverables.About you:ResponsibilitiesLead the design of mechanical building services for data centres, industrial/high-tech, and commercial sectors.Oversee projects across the EMEA region from concept to client handover.Manage project delivery while building strong client relationships.Mentor and guide engineering staff; ensure all deliverables meet quality assurance standards before handover.Manage multiple projects and ensure team members stay on track with deliverables.Represent Ethos in client meetings with excellent communication skills.Lead projects, take briefs from the project lead on large projects, and deliver required tasks.Balance multiple tasks, prioritise, and delegate to meet deadlines.Prepare clear reports and explain complex engineering issues in simple terms.Understand HVAC and building controls; experience in plumbing and drainage design is preferred.Support training and professional development of junior and intermediate engineers; progress to lead roles within the Data Centre team.Oversee workload and resource allocation to optimise productivity.Guide decision-making with extensive knowledge of discipline areas; manage scope and contract terms to avoid scope creep.Report progress to senior management and ensure alignment with organisational goals.Maintain quality control within projects and ensure deliverables meet established standards.Promote a positive message internally and externally to enhance team morale and the company’s reputation.Qualifications & RequirementsMinimum of 10+ years of mechanical design experience within the Data Centre sector.Hold a professional qualification.Hybrid remote arrangement in Ireland with attendance at the Dublin office as required by the team schedule.Senior member of the design team, working under team leadership to deliver data centre developments for major tech firms in Ireland and overseas.Benefits & Working ArrangementsFlexible working times / Hybrid working20 days of holidays, increasing up to 25 daysPension schemeYour own company laptopCoverage for working travel out-of-pocket expensesTravel tax scheme or bike-to-work schemeRegular training, mentoring, and further college supportSupport for ChartershipA professional subscription fee paid by the companyHeavily subsidised social committee activitiesAt Ethos, free Fridays every second Friday as a perkAt Ethos, we offer equal opportunities and welcome conversations if you think you could be a great fit, even if you don’t meet every single point on the job description.Values & VisionAt Ethos, our vision is to be the company people want to work with, and for.
