Your new company A dynamic and growing group of businesses based in Cork and Dublin is seeking an experienced accountant to join its central finance team at its Cork HQ. More details upon application. Your new role This is a broad and hands-on finance role supporting a group of companies across Cork and Dublin. You'll be responsible for managing the full monthly finance cycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across multiple entities. The role offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Monthly & Year-End Accounts: Prepare management accounts for several companies and complete year-end financials. Team Supervision: Oversee junior finance staff, delegate tasks, and maintain high standards of administration and process adherence. Audit & Compliance: Liaise with external auditors, respond to queries, and ensure all financial operations meet regulatory and internal compliance standards. Banking & Payments: Monitor bank accounts, manage standing payments and ensure weekly supplier payments are processed efficiently. Revenue Returns: Complete VAT and P30 returns on a bi-monthly basis and maintain up-to-date tax clearance certificates for all entities. Invoice & Reconciliation: Oversee invoice checking, inputting, and bank reconciliations; ensure creditors are paid timely. Cross-Charging & Projections: Record intercompany charges accurately and support financial projections and planning as needed. Process Improvement: Continuously review and update SOPs to improve efficiency and add value across the finance function. What you'll need to succeed 5+ years' experience in a similar role, ideally across multiple entities Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Proficiency in Sage 50, Excel, Gmail/Calendar, and banking apps A positive, proactive attitude with strong communication skills ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent experience will be strongly considered.
