Growing together.Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin or Letterkenny office and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.Primary Responsibilities:Apply advanced statistical and predictive modeling techniques to optimize healthcare and digital experiencesPropose innovative ways to look at problems using data mining, statistical analysis, and machine learningSeek out new data sources and verify integrity of data to fill gaps and improve modelsCollaborate effectively with internal clients, transforming their needs into analytics, predictive modeling, and business intelligence use casesCommunicate findings, verbally and visually, to business partners and clientsProvide tracking and monitoring of model performance and recommend ongoing improvements to methods and algorithmsLead and mentor junior data scientists and engineersYou will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:MS degree (or BS degree with equivalent experience) in computer science, applied mathematics, (bio) statistics, applied statistics, economics, or similar quantitative fields of studyProven track record in analytics and ML modeling using traditional and deep learning techniques in industry and/or academiaProven solid statistics and ML fundamentalsDemonstrated skills in python and state-of-the-art traditional and deep learning ML frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, pytorch, tensorflow, pyspark)Proven experience with the full ML system development, deployment, and maintenance lifecyclePreferred Qualifications:Ph.D. degree in computer science, applied mathematics, (bio) statistics, applied statistics, economics, or similar quantitative fields of studyProven experience in developing and deploying algorithms and ML models for forecasting (e.g., credit risk, demand and supply prediction), search engines (e.g., name entity recognition, intent classification, question answering, spelling correction, autocompletion), automatic speech recognition, machine translation, cold-start recommendations, semi-supervised learning (e.g., positive unlabeled learning)Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skillsProven ability to translate business needs and requirements into technical solutionsPlease note you must currently be eligible to work and remain indefinitely without any restrictions in the country to which you are making an application.
