Overview Of The Role
* Reviewing costs and implementing processes where savings can be made.
* Assist the Chief Financial Officer in the administration of all financial aspects of the hotel's operation.
* Work closely with other hotel departments to ensure department Heads understand KPIs.
* Review margins and identify areas for improvement.
* Review weekly revenue & payroll forecasts, compare actual vs forecast, and prepare weekly, monthly & year-end forecasts.
* Lead the month-end process.
* Conduct weekly/daily meetings with Heads of Departments, supporting all areas of accounts and finance.
* Manage Income Audit to ensure accuracy and completeness.
* Oversee payroll management, including analysis and control.
* Review Debtors Ledgers and PM Accounts to maintain tight credit controls and timely debt collection.
* Oversee creditors, maintain purchasing systems, reconcile creditor statements, and handle supplier queries.
* Conduct forecasting, analyze key trends and variances, and assess business risks with contingency strategies.
* Ensure all journals are processed, reviewed, and reconcile balance sheet control accounts.
* Prepare timely management accounts reflecting accurate trade activities.
* Assist with internal and external audits.
* Implement and monitor Property Audit programs and address corrective actions promptly.
* Assist in budget preparation with the CFO, ensuring alignment with property strategy.
The Ideal Candidate Should
* Be a strategic individual with strong business acumen, good communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Have at least 3 years of relevant experience in the hospitality industry or a sizable firm.
* Possess a third-level qualification in Accounting, Audits, or Finance.
* Be self-driven and strategic in resourcing.
* Work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Have good team spirit, multitasking ability, and excellent communication skills.
* Be familiar with Hospitality Systems such as Opera Cloud, Simphony, Procure Wizard, Alkimii.
