We’re now growing our Irish operations and seeking an Associate to lead the delivery of flood relief schemes and water-related infrastructure from our Cork office.
Position
The Opportunity
As an Associate within the Flood Risk team, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering complex flood management projects across Ireland. This is an opportunity to lead multidisciplinary teams, drive client engagement, and manage full project lifecycles—while helping to protect communities from climate risk.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Lead the Delivery of Flood Relief Schemes and related civil infrastructure projects
• ️ Oversee Project Planning, Budgeting, Quality Management, and Resource Allocation
• Manage and Mentor Teams of Engineers, Consultants, and Technicians
• ️ Liaise with Local Authorities, Clients, and Stakeholders to deliver compliant, effective solutions
• Ensure Compliance with Planning Processes, Design Standards, and Legislation
• Support Business Development through Tender Preparation and Market Engagement
• Champion Engineering Best Practice and Drive High-Quality Outputs
• Identify Innovation Opportunities in Design, Sustainability, and Delivery
Requirements
What You Bring
Experience & Qualifications:
• Level 8 (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering (Level 9 preferred)
• 10+ years post-graduate experience, including 8+ in flood risk management or drainage
• Proven experience in delivering flood relief or water-related projects in Ireland
• Background in contract administration and client-facing project leadership
Skills & Strengths:
• Strong knowledge of Irish legislation, planning frameworks, and design standards
• Excellent project management skills with a track record of meeting time, cost, and quality targets
• Effective communicator with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire high-performing teams
