Job Title: Community Support Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Community Support Specialist to join our team. As a Community Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing person-centered support to individuals with disabilities, equipping them with the confidence, skills, and self-belief to achieve their expressed goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, plan, implement, and review individualized support intervention programs for clients according to service standards.
* Ensure best practice in line with up-to-date research regarding person-centered support intervention in line with New Directions.
* Increase awareness, education, and understanding of Asperger Syndrome ASD Non-ID among professionals and the wider community.
* Liaise with managers and/or assistant managers regarding the referral and/or transition of clients between different elements of the Aspect service as appropriate.
* Collaborate with clients and document all client engagement, intervention, support plans, progress notes, reports referrals to agreed professional standards and communicate verbally and/or in writing the support/recommendations/intervention programs to the team in line with agreed policies and procedures.
Requirements:
* A minimum of one year's experience working in the field of disability, education, or training.
* A third-level degree in Social Care, Education, or Health.
* A progressive understanding of ASD non-ID, including Asperger's Syndrome High Functioning Autism.
* The ability to work on one's own in challenging situations including dealing with crises.
