I'm seeking strong candidates to prepare proposals for a fully funded Postdoctoral position under the SUSTAIN-FIT programme, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND initiative co-funded by Enterprise Ireland and the European Union.

I'm currently collecting CVs from highly motivated researchers with a strong background in materials science, mechanical engineering, additive manufacturing, composites, or related fields, and individuals eager to contribute to innovative, sustainability-focused projects and to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team at the University of Galway.

With a focus on:

Sustainable engineering, materials, manufacturing, energy transition, climate solutions, industrial sustainability, circular economy, or related interdisciplinary fields.

* A brief statement (1 paragraph) outlining your research interests

Subject line:SUSTAIN-FIT Expression of Interest – 2026

Due to the high volume of applications, I may not be able to respond to everyone. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
Female candidates and researchers from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

About SUSTAIN-FIT:
SUSTAIN-FIT supports 50 three-year incoming fellowships in sustainability and industrially focused research, offering international and inter-sectoral mobility, structured training, and a 6–12-month secondment to an industry partner. The programme aligns research with the European Green Deal's policy pillars, such as clean energy, sustainable industry, sustainable mobility, biodiversity, food systems, pollution elimination, and climate neutrality. Digitalisation projects that advance Green Deal objectives are also supported.

* Applicants must hold (or be near completion of) a PhD.

* Must comply with the MSCA transnational mobility rule — not having resided or carried out their main activity in Ireland for more than 12 months in the 36 months preceding the call deadline.

* Proficiency in English is required.

* Must be eligible to relocate to Ireland for the fellowship.
