Responsibilities as Senior Buyer Strategically plan and curate commercially successful product assortments that meet customer expectations and drive financial performance – anticipating trans and aligning with market shifts
Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with suppliers.
Negotiate competitive contracts, exclusivity terms, and pricing to secure added value and cost savings
Maintain strong partnerships with vendors, monitor performance, ensure compliance, and oversee supplier reviews to optimise reliability and quality.
Lead innovation and adapts strategy in response to market shifts
Financial Acumen & Inventory Control
Confidently make strategic buying decisions; anticipate and resolve issues in stock flow, delivery, or quality – ensuring efficient procurement cycles.
Guide, coach, and mentor junior buyers and admin staff, providing support, feedback, and acting as a role model.
Demonstrate the capability to define and execute long-term buying strategies that align with business goals
Identify and mitigate commercial, operational, and compliance risks Skills and Experience Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, retail buying, or category management, preferably in fast paced retail or multi-category environments
Proven track record in delivering measurable cost savings and margin improvements
Experience guiding junior buyers or support staff, with clear readiness to take on broader strategic and leadership responsibilities
