The ideal candidate will have a strong background in thermal analysis, materials science, and mechanical engineering, with expertise in finite element methods (FEM) and multiphysics simulation tools such as ANSYS.
They will also be familiar with industry standards for thermal qualification of spacecraft hardware, including ECSS and MIL-STD.

Responsibilities:
1. Lead Structural/Thermal Analysis: Develop and execute multidisciplinary structural and thermal analysis workflows to predict optical system performance under environmental loads.
2. Mentorship and Guidance: Lead and mentor engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
3. Collaboration and Communication: Foster a collaborative engineering culture within the organization, collaborating with optical, systems, and mechanical teams to deliver robust opto-mechanical subsystems.

Requirements:
* 8+ Years of Experience: In mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering field experience.
* B.Eng/M.Eng Degree: In Mechanical, Optical, Aerospace Engineering or relevant field.
* Strong Background: In FEA for structural analysis and thermal analysis, including experience integrating structural/thermal results into optical performance models.
* Proficient in Simulation Tools: Familiarity with ANSYS, Simcenter 3D, or equivalent multiphysics simulation environments.
* Familiarity with Industry Standards: Knowledge of ECSS, MIL-STD, or NASA standards for mechanical and thermal qualification of spacecraft hardware.
