SimoTech has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Automation Project Manager to join our team supporting our pharmaceutical client in Co.
Dublin on a major state-of-the-art site expansion project.
This role will focus on planning, coordination, and delivery of critical project activities across design, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness for advanced biologics manufacturing.
The Automation Project Manager will lead medium to large-scale technical projects within the expansion program, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, cost, and compliance requirements.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, governance, and stakeholder management skills in a dynamic, GMP-regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Define and align project objectives with site leadership and key stakeholders.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans addressing scope, cost, schedule, resources, and risk management.
Manage projects from concept through design reviews, construction, commissioning, validation readiness, and handover to operations.
Maintain project momentum with clear controls and hands-on leadership.
Lead and facilitate project meetings and governance forums, capturing and tracking actions, timelines, deliverables, milestones, and decision points.
Ensure controlled scope is understood and maintained by all stakeholders throughout project completion.
Identify and escal the project risks and issues promptly, enabling decisions that support progress within agreed timelines.
Maintain actions, risk, and decision logs and ensure timely closure of commitments.
Ensure strict adherence to cGMP, safety, and compliance standards during all phases of the project.
Support financial compliance in line with business and financial guidance.
Promote a culture of personal responsibility and accountability within the project team.
Work with resource managers to secure and allocate resources effectively.
Manage interactions with vendors, contractors, and system integrators to ensure delivery meets quality, schedule, and specification requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
Minimum5years' experience in project management within pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical environments.
Proven ability to manage complex technical projects in GMP-regulated settings.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in capital projects, commissioning, and validation readiness.
Familiarity with automation and manufacturing technologies is an advantage.
Ability to work on-site at least 3 days per week in South County Dublin.
Independent, organized, and collaborative, with strong problem-solving skills.
