Job Opportunity: Environmental Worker (Community Employment Scheme)
Location: Finn Valley Area – Killygordon or Castlefinn positions available
Project Name: Finn Valley Community Employment (CE) Project
Hours: 19.5 hours per week - Flexible Working Hours
Contract Type: Community Employment Scheme – Part-Time
About the Role: The Finn Valley CE Project is currently recruiting for an Environmental Worker to support community-based environmental and maintenance work in the Finn Valley area. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience, contribute to your local community, and access training opportunities to help you progress into further employment.
Key Duties Will Include:
* General environmental upkeep (e.g., litter control, planting, weeding, strimming, etc.)
* Maintenance of community spaces (parks, walkways, green areas)
* Supporting recycling and sustainability initiatives
* Assisting with seasonal projects (e.g., tree planting, clean-up days)
* Collaborating with local community groups and supervisors
* Following health and safety guidelines at all times
Eligibility
This position is supported under the Department of Social Protection’s Community Employment Programme. To be eligible, you must:
* Be aged 21 or over
* Be in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for at least 12 months or be a qualifying adult on a claim
* Meet CE scheme eligibility criteria (We can or your local Intreo office can check if you meet this criteria)
CE placements are designed to be stepping stones back to the workforce and include access to training and support.
Training Provided
Participants will have the opportunity to undertake certified and on-the-job training to enhance their skills and future employment prospects.
