Director, Engineering Technology Development – JJVLocation: Limerick, IrelandSenior technical and strategic leader responsible for overseeing a multidisciplinary Engineering Technology Development team within Johnson & Johnson’s Advanced Technology JJV portfolio. The role drives sustainable competitive technology advantage, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the Contact Lens & Surgical Vision Engineering function.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish a clear organisational vision and build engineering process excellence.Own the RD&I Tax Grants & Incentives Workstream, targeting state tax credits to accelerate R&D.Lead business‑case development for capital investments, articulating value propositions for the Contact Lens & Implant manufacturing platform.Promote a culture of innovation management excellence and support continuous improvement of innovation delivery practices.Develop long‑range departmental plans, annual budgets, and supervise budget performance.Establish and manage KPIs to measure functional performance and drive process improvement.Stay current on new technologies and present best‑practice methodologies to the company.Engage, inspire, mentor and develop the team to enhance performance, technical knowledge, and career satisfaction.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (advanced degree or MBA preferred).Minimum 12 years of relevant business experience in Life Sciences (Medical Device, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical).At least 8 years of people‑management experience with proven success in performance management.Manufacturing and/or Engineering experience in FDA or other regulated environments from design through startup.Experience in conceptual development, design, implementation, planning, scheduling, and project management of capital projects.Proficiency in cost‑centre management and project‑portfolio management.Strong organizational change, project‑management, communication, collaboration, and empowerment skills.Knowledge of continuous‑improvement tools, lean manufacturing, and Six‑Sigma (preferred).Travel up to 20% domestic and international.Johnson & Johnson is an affirmative action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
